The Mainstream Media’s
Betrayal:
How They Twist
the Truth About Israel
The mainstream media has failed us. After October 7, 2023, when Hamas unleashed rape, murder, and hostage-taking on Israel, I watched major outlets downplay these atrocities, call it “resistance,” and frame Israel as the aggressor. This feels like a betrayal. The West’s moral compass is broken, and the media is driving it off course, fueling hate against Israel—our homeland. Here’s my take on how they’re picking sides and distorting the truth.
Media’s Bias: Siding with Hamas, Not Israel
Post-October 7, Hamas’s horrors—1,200 Israelis killed, 251 hostages taken, rape and torture at Nova and kibbutzim—were buried or “contextualized” by many outlets. UN envoy Pramila Patten confirmed the sexual violence in February 2024, survivors spoke out in July, yet headlines like “Gaza under siege” or “Israel’s excessive response” often ignored Hamas’s terror base, Israel’s 2005 Gaza withdrawal, or Iran’s $16B proxy network. They amplify “occupation” narratives, downplay Israel’s 1:1 to 1:1.5 civilian casualty ratio and 1.7M tons of aid since October 7, while cheering ceasefire demands without even asking for the hostages to be released. This isn’t reporting—it’s siding with terror.
Hamas’s Calculated Media Manipulation
Hamas knew what they were doing on October 7. They started a war, aware of Israel’s military superiority, planning to hide behind civilians and manipulate the media and the woke far-left. They filmed it, live-streamed it, used body cams—betting on global outrage. How did they know this would work? They targeted progressives, academics, and activists who see “Palestinian oppression” as trendy, ignoring Hamas’s charter, the PA’s rejectionism, or Iran’s axis. The far-left’s moral drift, where “resistance” trumps truth, was their perfect audience, chanting “from the river to the sea” without knowing what river or sea they are referring to.
Media’s Silence on Hamas’s Strategy
The media’s silence on this—amplifying Hamas’s narrative, calling Israel’s precise operations like the beeper op or Sinwar’s fall “cruel”—shows a bias I can’t ignore. They chase clicks, cater to the far-left, and ignore that Israel’s conducting the most ethical war in modern urban warfare. They ignore our peace offers (1937, 1947, 2000, 2008), and indigenous roots. Some quote Hamas spokesmen, minimize October 7’s rape and torture, criticizing Israel while ignoring the daily Houthi missile attacks on Israel.
The Real-World Impact
Media’s slant fuels hate. Despite Jews being 2% of the U.S. population, they face 50% of religion-based hate crimes. On May 21, 2025, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim, Israeli embassy staffers and a young Jewish couple, were murdered outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., by a gunman shouting “Free Palestine,” who later said he “did it for Gaza.”
Just days ago, on June 1, 2025, Mohamed Sabry Soliman attacked a peaceful Jewish group in Boulder, Colorado, throwing Molotov cocktails at a Run for Their Lives event for Israeli hostages, injuring 15, including a Holocaust survivor, while yelling anti-Zionist slogans.
Post-October 7, the woke left—shutting down highways, chanting slogans they don’t understand—further shows the media’s role in breaking the West’s compass. They know their audience and play to it, amplifying Hamas’s lies while ignoring Israel’s truth, inciting hate that spills into our streets. Yet, outlets downplay these attacks’ antisemitic roots, further fueling the violence.
It’s time to call out the media’s failure. Israel fights for survival, not clicks or trends. The truth matters—don’t let the mainstream media distort it. Share your thoughts below. Let’s cut through the lies together.
